- Every day, the US spends $275 million on the occupation of Iraq & Afghanistan
- 36 million people in this country go hungry at some point each week
- 47 million people have no access to healthcare
- 8.5 million people who want to work can’t find jobs
In Rochester:
- 25% of the population lives below the poverty level
- Less than half of our high school seniors graduate
- $2.5 million has been spent on the Zero-Tolerance police initiative this year, but community centers are close Saturdays to save money.
The victories of the civil rights movement and the anti-war movement were won by groups of committed individuals coming to understand that we are fighting for the same goal, and that it’s only by working together that we can achieve it.
These injustices are intimately related and so the struggle against them must be, too.

Who are we?
Local anti-war activists from groups like Rochester Against War (RAW), Declaration of Peace, Military Families Speak Out, Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) and others who have come together to link up – across neighborhoods and across issues – with other local activists and ordinary people working for real change from the bottom up.
